GMEC Show Circuit
The GMEC Show Circuit is a group of local horse shows. The circuit runs by a set of guidelines set up by the GMEC show circuit committee.
Each year at the annual meeting in October, a new GMEC show circuit committee is formed. It is the responsibility of this committee to take the assigned budget and create a circuit and guidelines for the coming year.
The year ends with our annual awards dinner and dance.
For more information about this or to volunteer to sit on this committee,
send an email to zoy@nbnet.nb.ca

Show Circuit Guidelines 2008
- Minimum show requirements - each rider must attend a
minimum of 4 shows to have any points counted for year end.
- There will be NO Throw Away shows, all shows will be counted.
- All shows on our GMEC show circuit are run independently of the
GMEC and may accept or reject any entry at their own discretion. The
GMEC does not accept any responsibility to their members for these
decisions.
- That being said, the GMEC point circuit will be following NBEA (EC)
rules regarding classes and who is eligible to enter them. This
is on your honor.
- The GMEC Show Circuit Committee strongly recommends that all junior
riders wear ASTM approved helmets
- The GMEC Show Circuit Committee strongly recommends that all horses
have proof of vaccinations.
- Age of each rider will be as of Jan 1, 2008.
- Ex - Birthday is Jan 15, 2008 - the rider will turns
19, that rider must show as 18 for the show season of 2008 (still
a Junior - age is as of Jan 1, 2008).
- Suggested age groups for classes:
- 12 and under - Junior C
- 13 - 15 - Junior B
- 16 - 18 - Junior A
- 19 and over - Senior
- The GMEC Show Circuit Committee realizes that not all shows can
offer this break down in junior classes, but Junior riders MUST be
18 and under for our circuit. Senior riders MUST be 19 and over. (Ages
as of Jan 1, 2008)
- The following page is a list of our GMEC Show Circuit classes. Only
classes matching these exact descriptions (except Halter classes)
will be counted for GMEC Show Circuit points.
- Ex - Jr Barrels - one of our classes (this means that
if your show holds Open Barrels, it will NOT be counted for GMEC
points.)
- The only difference will be shows that clearly define the class
as a GMEC pointed class. Ex - Open breed Jr Showmanship (GMEC
pointed), or Youth showmanship (GMEC pointed), both of these classes
would be our Junior Showmanship class and this will clearly be
stated in the rules for that show.
- The point system will be explained in detail on that point system
page.
- Points will be effective after membership is paid prior to
any given show.
- Thank you for participating in our show circuit, have a great show
season in 2008.
